This tour has been designed for active families and friends who are interested in birds, amateur photographers and people that enjoy to make mix of activities, all with beautifull landscapes, nature, adventure and alive culture. This is how our guests can enjoy the archaeological wealth of Cusco; the nature and adventure in the lagoon of Piuray, practicing kayac and stand up-paddle with total security; knowing the ancestral culture through the exquisite textile art in Chinchero, to finally culminate with an unforgettable experience, walking on the indescribable trails of the Inka Trail.
Water sports, culture and gastronomy are the musts of this package. This fits with our philosophy of eco tourism and nature understanding, that are the pillars of contribution with the local communities.
For your best comfort, we recommend arriving at the city of Cusco minimally one day in advance, so that it can adequately carry out its acclimatization process and avoid altitude sickness.
Day 1: Cusco Inka Ruins – Camping at Piuray Lagoon
We will come at your hotel to pickup you up by our private transportation. Then we drive to the archaeological sites around of Cusco city, like Tambomachay, Puca Pucara, Q’enqo and finally we will visit the megalitic construction of Sacsayhuamán, the most important andean temple builded over Cusco in the fourthteen centuries.
After visit that important places, we get back to Cusco city for a lunch. After a light lunch, we will head towards Chinchero district (3,800 m.a.s.l), where we can appreciate the farm land and the Vilcanota mountain range with snow peaks. We will arrive to this area in 50 minutes approximatly, where we will visit one of the most traditional weaving centers, where all families that work does as a communal cooperative. In this place you can appreciate the final result of their work that will be explained by themselves, also you can buy one of the beautifull pieces as a sourvenir that you can’t get in any other place.
Finishing the activities at Chinchero, we set up to Piuray lagoon for our camp site.
Day 2: Kayacking and Stand up-Paddle at Piuray lagoon - Ollantaytambo
We wake up at 7:00 a.m, with an special coca tea in your room, and you have a time to make your belongers and walk around the laggon to see the sunrise, while us prepare the breakfast. After our breakfast, we will ready to begin our wáter activity sports. For this we will have a talk of personalized preparation by a professional kayacking guide. After the induction we will enter the lagoon with all the necessary equipment for our safety, where you will test your skills in water sports, all under the permanent supervision of our staff.
While you’re in the water activities, our specialized staff of coockers will be preparing the oven made of stones for our pachamanca, that it’s coocked under the ground by hot stones envolved with local earps specific for this exquisite food. You can be able to participate directly in all the process of preparation of the “Pachamanca”, to finally enjoy this Inca ancestral traditional food.
Finished our lunch we will go to Moray Archaeological complex "Andean Agricultural Laboratory", where we will be able to analyze and understand the amazing Inka scientific knowledge, grouped in a set of 03 systems with a functional structure that are imposed on the fertile surface of the land; The same ones that were used for the adaptation of the diverse species of plants.
Finally, we will go to Ollantaytambo to lodge.
Day 3: Short Inka Trail – Machupicchu
We take the early morning train from Ollantaytambo through the picturesque Sacred Valley to Km 104, where we begin the trail (All the route is a moderate hike), but before we will visit the Inca complex of Chachabamba. Our hike continues gently upward for more than three hours until we reach the beautifully Inca complex of Winay Wayna. In this part of the trail we will be able to enjoy the amazing sub-tropical landscapes with singular flora and fauna surround us. As we continue 2 hours to get at the Sun Gate, from where we will have the first sight of Machu Picchu. We walk down past the majestic archeological complex, then take the bus to Aguas Calientes to spend a relaxing night in a comfortable hotel in Aguas Calientes.
Day 4: Machupicchu – Cusco
After an early wake up and breakfast, we take the bus ride up to Machu Picchu, where we will tour the amazing architecture and mysterious temples left by the andean masters and specialized stone masons. A professional bilingual guide will help us to understand the sophisticated technology of this highly-advanced culture. Once the official tour is completed, we will have plenty of time to explore by yourself the Sanctuary on your own before returning to Cusco by train trought Ollantaytambo in the afternoon.
