This tour will take you to unforgettable journey to the natural habitat of the condor, the most large Bird flying in the world's, over Apurimac Canyon; place located 3 ours from Cusco. We have birding as we walk out to the check point located over the Apurimac canyon, from we can enjoy the flight of the condors. Here we offer you a basic picnic lunch over the most impressive scenery. Here you can prove your skills to photograph those amazing condors on it's natural habitat.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Cusco – Chonta community – View Point
Departure from the hotel at 5 am to driving through the highlands to Chonta community for a 3 hours. Once we get there we will have a cofee break before to start the trek at the direction of Apurimac Canyon and visualize the spectacular scenery, it takes 1:30 minutes. On the way we spot some highlands birds.This tour is an unforgettable experience to enjoy the condors flying over the Apurimac Canyon. The condors soar upwards by using the thermal wind currents. This will be the best time to use all your abilities to photograph the majestic condors flying. Here you will spend almost all day, Finishing our activities, we will set up to the camp site to pass the night in Chonta community (3,600 m.a.s.l).
Day 2: Chonta community - Cusco
Wake up early morning and walk around the Chonta village to observe local birds and a espectacular view of Humantay snow peak, which is a great moment to photography the nature and sunrise. Afther this morning tour we will back to have breakfast. We drive to Limatambo and stop at the inca site Tarawasi, one of the impressive stonework made by Andean civilization. To finally drive back to Cusco.
